John 6:24-35

Step I: Initial Acquaintance

(JEA) C. ROUGH TRANSLATION

24 Therefore when the crowd saw that Jesus is not there, neither his disciples, they went up into the little boats and came into Capernaum seeking Jesus. 25 And having found him on the other side of the sea they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you become here?" 26 Jesus responded and said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, you seek me not because you saw signs but because you ate out of the breads and were nourished. 27 Work (you [pl.]) not with respect to the food that is being used up but with respect to the food that is remaining into eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you (pl.)! For God the Father sealed this one [i.e. the Son]. 28 Therefore they said toward him, "What (why?) may we do in order that we may work with respect to the works of God?" 29 Jesus responded and said to them, "This is the work of God in order that you may believe in whom that One sent (Gr. "apostello"). 30 Therefore they said to him, "What (why?) therefore do you do (with respect to?) a sign, in order that we might see and might believe you (to be credible)? What (why?) do you work? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert, just as it is being written 'bread out of the heaven he gave to them to eat.' " 32 Therefore Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, not Moses gave to you the bread out of the heaven, but my Father gave to you the bread, the true one out of the heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the one coming down out of the heaven and giving life to the cosmos." 34 Therefore they said toward him, "Lord, always give to us this bread!" 35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. The one coming toward me will never ever hunger and the one believing into me will never ever thirst any longer."
